iPad Cover Make-Over

Before Easter I went into Hades, I mean Walmart, to get stuff to dye eggs
and such, and there were all these buggies (or shopping carts- whichever you prefer to call 'em) lined up in front of all the registers. They were full of all kinds of random stuff and people were digging through them like they were panning for gold. I, of course, was quite annoyed because it made getting through the check-out line a pain in the arse.

While piling my crap items on the conveyor belt, the cashier and customer in front of me were discussing how they couldn't believe everything the woman was buying was $1 each. I was shocked- she had a small rolling suitcase, a large blanket, a very long (and pretty) decorative curtain rod, and several other items. Thorugh further eavesdropping, I learned it was "Dollar Day" at Walmart and all the items in the aforementioned buggies were on sale for $1.

I finally paid and went out to my car with my crap treasures, and as I was loading it all into the back I realized I had forgotten, of all things, the eggs themselves....which was the main reason I went to the store in the first place. Ugh!!

I went back into the store and got my eggs and when I got back up to the registers I decided to check out these $1 buggies. I settled on 4 pair of earbuds for our iPod and then saw an iPad cover. Score!! I snatched it up. I had been wanting one, but had not yet been willing to part with the $30-$40 to get one. This one was plain black and had some padding to it. It also folded around into a triangle to make your iPad stand up. And it was $1!!!!!! Did I mention it was the last one??? The earbuds were regularly priced about $17 and the iPad normally ran $35. I was so proud of my bargains.

I recently decided to fancy the iPad cover up just a bit. I went to Hobby Lobby and found this cute iron-on sequin decal of an owl. I don't know why, but I am smitten with owls just now....and flamingos too for some reason...

I ironed the little cutie on and then added some ribbon. I used some ribbon I had on hand and just used Elmer's spray adhesive to attach them. Voila!

Cute, right?

Total cost: $2.96
Cover $1
Decal $1.96 ( I used the 40% weekly coupon)
Ribbon/Glue $0 (had them on hand)

Not bad, eh????

P.S. Please do not judge me on my photography....I need to work out a place to take pics with good lighting, background, and surface. I promise to try to do better next time!
